It is commonly assumed that agarwood in the Philippines was “discovered” possibly 3-4 years ago. Now it is not the fault of the misinformed oud collector to possess such an assumption. Instead, the most likely well-intentioned statements of certain vendors who sought to emphasis their role in bringing Filipino agarwood to the market post-2016. Given the relative dearth of Filipino oils pre-2017, it is no wonder that many subscribe to this thesis. However, the Oud Royale 2 demonstrates that Artisanal grade oud oils from the Philippines were being crafted way back before 2010.
On opening the cap to this bottle there is a rush of complex agarwood notes and one quickly realises that this is no ordinary oud. There is a depth and majestic darkness to this oil that is seldom found, except in the finest oud oils. The name given by the original vendor is apt. There is only one oud oil currently out there that might develop along the same lines, but who knows because right now, even that is a shadow of this vintage Filipino. If you want to experience what an aged high-grade oil smells like, look no further.
We are proud to be able to offer 0.5g of this magnificent oud oil in a high recovery vial.
